A new tax on businesses and consumers is being proposed in Hollywood.
The “Tourism Improvement District” (TID)
is just another tax on business
and more junk fees for consumers.
Doing business in Los Angeles is hard enough.
We don't need more taxes.
A TID is a special assessment district that places additional mandatory fees on businesses to fund tourism marketing programs.
These districts are formed through a petition process and, once approved, require ongoing payments from businesses.
Hollywood’s economy should work for everyone—not just a handful of special interests. The proposed TID asks local businesses to pay more, with no guarantees, no real voice, and no accountability.
We can support tourism without putting the burden on the very businesses that make Hollywood unique.
